Ajay Jadeja

Ajay belongs to the Royal family of Nawabnagar in Gujurat now known as Jamnagar. Ajay is a descendent of Duleep Singh and Ranjith Singh after whom the Ranjhi Trophy is named. Royalty runs in his blood in the form of passion for cricket. His royal background comes from his father side ,while his mother is a Malyalee from Allepey District in Kerala. Ajay's father Mr. Daulatsinghji P Jadeja was a congress MP from Jamnagar.

Ajay was four when he started accompanying his father to the National Stadium in Delhi. While his father played cricket, he used to fool around in the tunnels, but soon he started taking the game seriously. From 7th standard Ajay played cricket everyday from 2in the noon to 6 in the evening. Ajay played for Haryana at the State level. He got his first call to the National Team just after his 12th. His first tour with the Indian Team was to Sharjah in 1990, but his first opportunity to play came from his tour to Australia in 1992.

Ajay loves to cook and experiments a lot when he goes to foreign countries. He loves to travel. Another pass time of his is sleeping. He also loves playing golf. Ajay has a passion for sunglasses as one can see in a cricket match. He never repeats his shades after a month. He is a frequent visitor to parties as he can not stay in a hotel room for long after the match. Ajay is friendly, jovial, good thinking cricketer with a healthy temperament and a wonderful ability to live with disappointment. He can laugh and crack jokes in the most tense situations. He can communicate in Gujarati, Hindi, Malyalam, Punjabi, and bits of Tamil, Bengali, Kannada which makes him popular amongst the other cricketers.

Ajay Jadeja is the 14th player to become the Indian Cricket team Captain.
He has won 7 Man of the Match awards.
Ajay has scored twenty one 50's and four 100's in his One Day International Career.
